Quick Quotes
Q. What does Solheim mean for Spain, your memories connected to the Ryder Cup with the Solheim?
JOSĂ MARĂA OLAZĂBAL: Well, it's a huge honor to host the Solheim Cup, which, from my point of view, is one of the most, if not the most important, tournament in women's golf. It reminds me of '97 when we played the Ryder Cup not far away from here in Valderrama. I hope that the Solheim Cup will do what the Ryder Cup did for the game of golf not just in Spain, but all over Europe.
Q. You're going to be a vice captain at the Ryder Cup, you see what's going on here. What is your advice for the girls?
JOSĂ MARĂA OLAZĂBAL: Well, obviously, it's not going to be easy. They are going to try to make history, trying to win the third Solheim Cup in a row. That's not going to be easy. But obviously, I think they do have a very strong team and I think they have a chance.
Q. You clearly are here. You're supportive of women's golf. What do you think is going to happen with women's golf? It's growing --
JOSĂ MARĂA OLAZĂBAL: Well, I think the game of golf is, women's golf, is growing. I think it's in a better position now than it was a few years ago and hopefully they will move in that direction and in a few years time, we will see, you know, solid tournaments and solid golf all around the world.
