THE MODERATOR: Questions for Madison?
Q. (Question about being back on court.)
MADISON KEYS: Obviously excited coming here after the US Open and excited to get back on the court and win matches.
Q. What do you like most about being back in Guadalajara?
MADISON KEYS: I enjoyed it last year. I feel like I played some pretty good tennis. Obviously this was close to home for me. It's just a nice tournament to have on the calendar.
Q. The US Open celebrated 50 years of equal prize money for women. Where do you see tennis going, where is the evolution, where do you see it in 10 years in this aspect?
MADISON KEYS: I think that there's obviously going to be even more tournaments with equal prize money and things like that. I know with the investment that the WTA is going through and all of that, we're already getting closer to that number and working towards equal prize money. So I think in the next 10 years we'll be as equal as the men.
Q. How do you feel in this moment in your personal life?
MADISON KEYS: I feel good. Happy (laughing).
Q. So after the withdraws of many top-10 players, how do you feel your chances for this tournament?
MADISON KEYS: I think, obviously there's a lot of people who withdrew, but there's also still a lot of really great tennis players here. So I think maybe the cut is lower than normal, but it's still a very tough draw and there's still a lot of really great players. So I think it's still going to be a really tough tournament.
