Quick Quotes
Q. I'm here with Ruoning Yin after the final round of the Kroger Queen City Championship. Third place finish. Can you just walk us through your round today?
RUONING YIN: Today I think I bounceback from yesterday. My approach shot and my putting went good, but still my tee shot was a little bit off. I have probably just a few fairways today, but putting was good.
Q. You managed to still have a bogey-free round, despite maybe missing some od those fairways. Can you speak to the conditions on the course today?
RUONING YIN: Today I think it's definitely -- it's pretty windy and the green is getting firmer, firmer, firmer.
But, yeah, I think just the greens. It's pretty much like a major course.
Q. And this I believe your third finish in the last three weeks in the top.
RUONING YIN: Yes, third again.
Q. You were finished in the Top 5 in the last three events consecutively. What does that mean about the consistency of your game? Are you just comfortable at the top of leaderboard now?
RUONING YIN: Yeah, I'm pretty comfortable. Just every week I know I'm in good spot and every week I can put myself into that winning circle. It's just amazing to see myself can play good, but also consistent.
Q. And the big question: With your finish today you're expected to be the new Rolex Rankings World No. 1. What does that mean to you that you will be No. 1 in the world?
RUONING YIN: I got goosebumps. I mean, I think, yeah, world No. 1 is the big step on the way to chasing Shanshan. Yeah, I'm just -- I got brain blank right now. I don't know what so say.
Maybe I can't say something until I finally see my name as world No. 1.
Q. How aware were you going into today's round of the possibility of becoming world No. 1?
RUONING YIN: I always know if I finish Top 3 I maybe can become world No. 1. Today on the course I'm just thinking about like bogey-free.
Q. Yeah.
RUONING YIN: And make as much birdie as I can and just keep patient. Be patient to every shot and I did pretty good.
Q. And just headed into this week as well, was that something you were also thinking about?
RUONING YIN: Yeah, last because week I nearly finished second, and I know I'm getting closer every week.
So this week, another good week. I know if I have another good week I'll be in that spot.
Q. ... from China to be world No. 1, and what she may mean to you as a golfer from China.
RUONING YIN: It means a lot. For me it's like dream come true. I think I didn't get a lot of chance to chat with Shanshan, but I'm looking forward to back to China and play the Asian Game and spend more time with her consider she's the head coach on our National Team.
