Quick Quotes
Q. 68, your verdict on the day's play?
SHANE LOWRY: Pretty good. Scrappy at times but I played pretty good today. Scoring is obviously pretty good. Conditions are as good as you get. 4-under is pretty good. I'm in a nice position going into the weekend. I'm obviously five back but I'm sitting nicely and looking forward to trying to make a charge.
Q. You mentioned scoring being pretty good, but if you start missing fairways, it can change pretty quickly?
SHANE LOWRY: You miss fairways, there's a lot of tricky shots and there's a lot of trouble, a lot of water. You need to be very clever and be very careful and take your chances when you get them, and I've done that well over the last two days. I've made a lot of birdies and holed some nice putts and happy with my couple of day's work.
Q. In 2009, I interviewed you on that occasion and remember the scenes around 18 green, still give me now goosebumps. What's it like for you?
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, look, this tournament means an awful lot to me and I was very fortunate to win it once. I'd love the opportunity to do that again.
Q. Happy with your day's work?
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, it's always nice to birdie the last two holes, and it was a bit different finish than yesterday. I'm pretty happy where I'm sitting. I'm five back which is obviously a good few shots but I'm in good position for the weekend and looking forward to it.
Q. It will be a pretty raucous atmosphere tomorrow?
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, it was amazing. Today was one of the cooler days on the golf course. The big crowds out there, obviously not far from home, and a lot of Offaly jerseys, which was nice. I really enjoyed myself out there the last two days. Probably one of the more enjoyable Irish Opens I've ever had to be honest the first two rounds.
