Straffan, County Kildare, Ireland
The K Club, Ryder Course
Quick Quotes
Q. 64, level par for 22 holes of this championship and 9-under for the last 14. What changed?
FREDDY SCHOTT: Nothing really. I felt like I was hitting it great the whole tournament so far and on the 5th hole my caddie said, let's enjoy it a little bit more and celebrate more and started off with four birdies in a row. That made it quite easy to enjoy it.
Q. Your first Irish Open, always a special tournament, the atmosphere. How has it been for you?
FREDDY SCHOTT: It's been amazing. Even when I saw in the practice round already was mind-blowing. Great crowds and obviously starting yesterday, quite late, the course was packed and just unbelievable experience. Really enjoyed it.
Q. Your first season on tour, rookie season, first 16 starts, 40th your best position, last nine starts, four Top 15s, what's the difference there?
FREDDY SCHOTT: I feel like I'm more able to call this tour home now. Before it was more like, a Challenge Tour player coming up and didn't really know my place here, and now I'm starting to get to know so many more guys, and just start to be myself again, and yeah, obviously displayed in the results as well.
Q. How excited to be in this position going into the weekend?
FREDDY SCHOTT: Oh, very. If you would have told me at the beginning of the week, I would be absolutely happy. That's what I am. Looking forward to what's coming up.
