Q. How did you feel about your round today?

HAE RAN RYU: Recently, I haven’t hit scores like 5-under, 6-under. I went out there today hoping to hit a low round under par and I think it turned out well. Looking more forward to tomorrow’s round.

Q. Is there anything you worked on after missing the cut last week at the Portland Classic?

HAE RAN RYU: When I take a video of my swing recently, to be honest, I didn’t really see any problems. In fact, I thought my swing had gotten better, so it was disappointing when I didn’t post the scores I wanted to. After last week, I think I’ve gotten used to the newly improved swings and that led to a good score today.

Q. Do you like that you carded five birdies more or that you had no bogeys?

HAE RAN RYU: I’ve carded five birdies often but wasn’t able to score low because of the bogeys. So I like that there was no bogey on the scorecard compared to the five birdies.

Q. It was much cooler today than the last couple days. How did that affect your round?

HAE RAN RYU: there weren’t that many birdies in the second half of the round, but the weather was cool so I didn’t get too tired and got a lot of par saves.

Q. How much is the Rookie of the Year on your mind?

HAE RAN RYU: It is on my mind. If I win, it would be my second Rookie of the Year, but it’s a title I still want it very much. I’m looking forward to finishing the season strong.

Q. What kind of prep are you doing prior to Round 2?

HAE RAN RYU: I think there’ll be more bumps in putting in the afternoon tomorrow. I’m going to work on my putting so I don’t miss any birdie opportunities tomorrow.
