Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Yealimi Noh after a great round in the first round of the Kroger Queen City Championship. You got off to a hot start today. Can you talk us through some of those birdies?
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, well, I was hitting a lot of fairways and a lot of greens finally. I haven't been recently.
But it was a really good day. The course is playing so firm, so being in the fairway really helps out. My drives have been going pretty far and I think that gives me a bit of an advantage with the wedges in.
10 I had like a 30-yard pitch to the green, and then 12 I laid up, but, yeah, it's nice to be kind of far out in the fairway.
Q. And would you say your wedges were the strongest part of your game today?
YEALIMI NOH: Yes, I would say so. Wedges and just like irons in general. Like I haven't been hitting my irons that well lately, but a few swing changes and I'm hitting them a lot more solid. And on the green. (Laughter.)
Q. And you mentioned the fairways being a little bit firmer. Do you think that complements your game out here, more firmness?
YEALIMI NOH: Yeah, for sure. I have a lot of spin on my ball, so the second shots in, like wedges in, have been nice, because greens are getting a lot firmer too.
It's crazy how much it changes like over the past few days. They were pretty soft on Monday and Tuesday, but getting firm, and, yeah, definitely the fairways running out helps a lot. I've been hitting some pretty far drives out there.
Q. And then how will you prep after your round for tomorrow?
YEALIMI NOH: Just go on the range a bit and keep up the ball striking and then roll a few putts in. Hope it stays good tomorrow.
