Quick Quotes
Q. 6-foot birdie putts never feel better than they do when they go in on the 18th hole. Talk us through that opening round 66 today.
KRISTIAN KROGH JOHANNESSEN: I mean, I played great today. Tee-to-green was amazing. I had control over my golf ball all day. Had a few good putts. But, I mean, this late here, I mean, the greens are so good, but they're a bit spiky the last few hours, so I could miss like a putt under 2 foot on the 6 to make my only bogey today. So I was a bit sad when that happened, but I made up for on the last.
Q. Teeing off so late, you're seeing what kind of scores this course is producing. Were you surprised by how low they were?
KRISTIAN KROGH JOHANNESSEN: Yes. When I played the practice round here, I was like, this is a proper golf test. And then if you play on these kind of courses every day, you get better in golf.
So I was surprised. But, again, the weather we had, to be Ireland, it's not common, is it.
Q. I can't speak for the Irish, but you might be right at the summary there. 3-under for through 4, though, that would have kick-started your confidence today, I'd imagine.
KRISTIAN KROGH JOHANNESSEN: Yes, obviously. And I have a new 3-wood in the bag, and got its first go on No. 10. And I hit a really good shot, and I got off to a birdie. So that's always nice to start well.
And especially on this course because then you can actually relax a bit because if you start hitting the few bad ones, it's so easy to make bogeys out here. So I'm really happy to start well and then just keep going.
