Quick Quotes
Q. All right, Janet, just walk me through what the game plan was heading into today.
XIYU LIN: I was going to go low because I was -- I mean, I liked my position but I was a little further behind than I expected.
Again, the course is in great condition again today, so I knew I have to get it going. I wouldn't say I off to slow start, but it just -- you know, if you want to have really, really low one you need to start from right at the beginning.
So it wasn't quite like that, but I think at the turn I make some long putt, which helps a lot, and then finish with two birdies.
Q. Not only that, but for you, you talked about kind of what the beginning of the week was like. To be able to finish where you finished this week, what does that say about the resilience you've had the last couple days?
XIYU LIN: I kind of wish I can cross the first nine holes I ever played off, and then I'll be 25-under.
But like I have been struggle a little bit with my putter recently, so this week I change a grip, change the setup a little bit, and like I said, the first nine hole on Thursday I really thought I'm going home.
So the way I battle it back it's pretty good, and to see the putter working it's a great feeling.
Q. I know there is a lot to look forward to in the next couple weeks for you. What will you take away from an event like this, the Portland Classic?
XIYU LIN: Yeah, I mean, obviously next week is very important, but Asian Games is definitely weighed a lot in my hearts, and seeing my teammates all doing good, like little Ronni there, and also Yu Liu is in great shape, too. I play with her couple times recently.
I just really look forward to the next bunch of tournaments, and then, yeah, there is some time off from the tour, but then I wish I still going to finish high next week and then bring the good momentum into the Asian Games.
Q. You had a great finish last year at Cincinnati. How excited are you to return to that course?
XIYU LIN: I'm super excited because first I like the course a lot, and I feel like last year we didn't really get to see the challenge of the course because it was so wet.
So I can see how good of a design it's going to be when it's in great condition, and I think so far it's in really good condition. So even though I have great result there last year, I wouldn't say I have any advantage. I feel like that will be close to a new course for everybody.
So, yeah, I'm looking forward to it.
