Quick Quotes
Q. You've gotten to play the course a little bit so far this week. How do you think it'll play during the championship?
JULI INKSTER: It's playing great. The greens are fantastic. Super undulated. You've got to really watch your speed. Got to make sure you hit a lot of greens out here, fairways and greens, and take advantage when you have birdie opportunities but play pretty conservative when you don't.
Q. Obviously you won here before; how does it feel to be back at Waverley?
JULI INKSTER: Waverley is kind of my second home. My husband has a lot of family up here. I've played in the Portland Classic since who knows when. A long time ago. I got in the Hall of Fame in Portland. It's got a lot of great memories for me, and winning the Amateur here -- the course has changed a lot. Gill came in and redid it.
But I love this area. It reminds me a lot of northern California.
Q. Are there any specific memories from that week when you won here, the Am, that kind of come back?
JULI INKSTER: Besides raising the trophy, I remember I birdied 17 and 18 to win, but other than that, I don't. It's so long ago.
Q. You've played in all of the Senior Women's Opens. What does the championship mean to you? It's relatively new, but to compete in it.
JULI INKSTER: Well, it's great that we have an opportunity to compete as veterans or a little older players for a national championship. It means a lot. Anytime you can add an USGA on your resume, it's very rewarding, and I just love the game, and this would be a great one to win.
