Quick Quotes
Q. What allowed you to flip the script today and turn around and shoot a nice 4-under?
SEPP STRAKA: You know, something that Tillery and I worked on over Friday night, I guess, Saturday morning. We had a few text conversations, and he sent me a video, kind of a little bit of a swing tweak, and got me hitting the ball a lot better.
Q. What was the general genesis of the tweak?
SEPP STRAKA: Just kind of driving my legs back a little bit. I was a little bit lazy taking the club back. Long season, probably a little tired. That's a pretty common thing for me.
Q. Did you have any sense near the end what the numbers were looking like around the top 30 bubble?
SEPP STRAKA: It's so hard to tell because you have no idea until everybody is done after today, but I knew every shot was really important.
Definitely felt kind of like you were playing in contention.
Q. How closely had you been monitoring things in between rounds this week based on where the bubble was sitting?
SEPP STRAKA: I mean, you watch it, but ultimately it doesn't really matter because most of it's out of your control anyway. You've just got to try to play a good round of golf and see where you end up.
Q. Do you have a gut instinct right now whether you'll be on the right side or the other side?
SEPP STRAKA: I feel like that bogey on the last was pretty costly. Yeah, no clue. I haven't really looked a whole lot. It's tough out there, and twosomes are playing pretty quick. I just knew that every shot was really important.
Q. Are you going to follow it this afternoon?
SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, I'll be watching. I'll definitely be watching.
Q. What's your travel? Are you leaving soon or are you staying?
SEPP STRAKA: I have a flight booked for 3:30. I'll probably push that back. Hopefully I can book one to Atlanta, but need a lot of help for that.
Q. Did you have a target score in mind today?
SEPP STRAKA: No, not really. No, just tried to shoot the lowest score I could. I knew I had to shoot pretty low, though.
Q. What was the pressure you felt today versus a normal Sunday?
SEPP STRAKA: Depends on what Sunday. Some Sundays you feel more pressure. When you're in contention naturally. But it felt pretty much like you were competing for a TOUR event.
Q. Where is your flight currently to?
SEPP STRAKA: Both. Hopefully I'll cancel the right one. We'll see.
Q. You have two flights?
SEPP STRAKA: Yeah.
Q. Are you proud of your season overall?
SEPP STRAKA: Yeah. A little disappointed with the way I played in the Playoffs, obviously, but just looking at the season as a whole, it was no doubt the best season I've had in professional golf.
I'm really happy with the season. Right now a little bit upset with having to kind of watch people, see what happens.
Q. I know you want to get to East Lake, but how important do you think it is to have an extra week to show Luke Donald your game?
SEPP STRAKA: I think he knows my game fairly well. I think these weeks matter a lot, just to see who's in form, who's not. But overall I don't think that one week is going to make a huge difference.
Obviously if I went and won East Lake, that would probably change things, but yeah, I think he's got a pretty good idea of what my game is like.
