Quick Quotes
Q. Okay, here with Chloe Williams. Take me through your round today. Saw a really good back nine. Take us through that stretch of 15, 16, 17.
CHLOE WILLIAMS: Yeah, I mean, it got really windy out there towards the end. Judging downwind was quite strong so just stayed patient. I knew there was a few par-5s, chances that were going to play a lot shorter, so took advantage of those.
Yeah, so got the job done on the par-5s which is where the chances were.
Playing the opposite direction into wind was playing really long, so managed to get a couple back there.
Q. Can you take us through the shots on 17 that led to the eagle?
CHLOE WILLIAMS: Yeah, so I went with driver off the tee, which was kind of risk-reward, but I knew if I could get it as far down there as possible I would only be going in with like a 9-iron, but ended up hitting a small wedge into there, which was obviously a lot easier with kind of a fuller shot, but having the spin so I could stop it downwind.
It was quite an in-between kind of shot, so I just fully committed and came up nicely there. Just pitched like 20 yards short of the pin and released up to about three feet.
Q. Being from Wales, are links courses familiar for you?
CHLOE WILLIAMS: Yeah, I mean, I played a lot of links when I was younger in amateur days, so very used to this kind of layout and the way that they play.
Yeah, I'm familiar with the kind of shots that are required to play on links.
Q. With tomorrow switching to a parkland course, how is the strategy going to be maybe different for you?
CHLOE WILLIAMS: Obviously a little bit. It's a lot softer, not as firm, but I think it'll still be a little bit windy. It's not going to be fantastic with the weather. I think the weather is going to be a bit rough tomorrow.
Yeah, just enjoy it again. Every day is different. You never know what's going to be thrown at you. Just stay patient and give yourself chances.
