M. AREVALO, J. ROJER/R. Ram, J. Salisbury
6-3, 6-1
THE MODERATOR: Questions in English, please.
Q. Julien, Marcelo, congratulations. I think this is your seventh title in the two years that you've partnered together. So first of all, what does this title mean to you, and why do you think you're able to work so well together on the court?
JEAN-JULIEN ROJER: Yeah, thank you. Did you say it was our seventh?
Q. Seventh.
JEAN-JULIEN ROJER: We weren't sure. Because somebody asked us earlier.
MARCELO AREVALO: I thought it was six, but it's nice that it's seven.
Q. Four last year, three this year.
JEAN-JULIEN ROJER: Okay. Yeah, it means a lot to us. You know, of course, it's always nice to win titles. And then to win these kind of events that are the biggest events that we have in our sport, it's pretty cool.
And I think both of us, we are quite -- I mean, as is everybody here, of course. But we're quite serious with our tennis in the sense that we sacrifice a lot, and we work quite hard, and we take it seriously.
So it's nice to get rewarded at the end of a wonderful week like this. But we're super happy with the week. This is such a, let's say, prestigious stop in our calendar, and it's such a nice victory to have.
Q. Marcelo, I wanted to know what are some of the things you've learned from playing with Julien over the last two years? Because I think there's maybe 10 years separating you two in terms of experience on the tour. So what have you really learned in the time that you've been together?
MARCELO AREVALO: Well, as I said, I'm really open to learn new things all the time. And I learn a lot from all my partners.
And, of course, I learn a lot of things from Jules. He's a super hard worker guy. Always does whatever it takes to be ready for practice, for matches, for tournaments. And that's something that I really appreciate that I learned from him.
You know, like, no matter what the situation, no matter if we're going through good moments or bad moments tennis-wise, you know, you've got to stick to your routines, to your beliefs, and keep working for those goals.
You know, sooner or later, work is going to pay off. And that's what we do together, yeah.
