Q. Pretty good round?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: Very steady. The wind it was kind of breezy when we first teed off but then it kind of died out through maybe the middle of the round and then just picked up at the end but I think we got a little bit lucky with my tee times and the conditions, so I'm very happy, I've really hit the ball solid the past two days, so it's just hoping the putts drop at the weekend.
Q. What course is Ally Ewing playing?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: I know, it's funny, because I said to my caddie, I looked up at the scoreboard, she was up through five and she was 5-under. And the next time I looked up she was 10-under through 11, I said -- I was like, okay. Not expecting that. But props to her. That's an incredible round she's putting together out there for sure.
Q. Long way to go, though.
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, another two rounds. Anything can happen at the British Open.
Q. Solheim, is that on your mind?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, it's coming up but I'm just trying to focus on each tournament and it's a good week to play well. We'll see. I've been a part of three Solheims and two winning teams, and it's always at the top of my goal list every Solheim year. So I definitely want to be part of the team and to experience that again.
Q. Seems to be especially competitive this time around. There seems to be a lot of people who may be up for a spot.
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, the standard of golf, especially on the European side right now and younger players coming through, it's very competitive. It keeps us vets on our toes I think.
Q. How much conversation have you had with Suzann in the past few months?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, a little bit. As I said, I'm just trying to focus on each tournament and trying to let my golf do the talking. I've had some pretty good finishes over the past couple months at the majors specifically, and I think that's a really good thing to have under my belt coming into Solheim picking.
Yeah, we'll see what happens.
Q. You say you're trying to focus on each tournament. How successful are you in doing that?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: Yeah, I think I'm doing a good job. I think this week was probably the week that I was feeling a little bit unsure, and you know, I was having a little bit of an issue with my driver early in the week and I figured that out late Wednesday and I've hit the ball really nicely off the tee, and I think that kind of settled me down yesterday.
So I was able to focus on each shot today much better than I was yesterday.
Q. Tough test this week -- have you played Denton much?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: I did play Denton a lot. It was my nemesis. I didn't enjoy playing against Denton much just because how many bunkers are out there. There are a little less bunkers out here. I never played out here when I was younger. It's been very interesting to come out and play Walton Heath. It's not quite a links course and it's not quite a parkland course. It's kind of visually a little bit intimidating off the tee because really all you see is a sea of purple and you just don't want to be in that sea of purple.
Yeah, if you're hitting your driver nicely, then you're going to probably put some scores together.
Q. It's been breezy and dry, is it firming up?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: I started to see that a little bit today. It was a little softer earlier in the week. May have had some rain last week. But the greens are still holding nicely. A future the holes downwind, you can get some pretty big bounces, so you kind of have to adjust for that and just kind of notice where the wind is coming from, yeah I think by Sunday, it's probably going to be running pretty firm and fast.
Q. Coming into this week -- the focus is on in terms of a home winner, the talk is about Charley and Georgia, you've always come in under the radar. Does that affect you or something you think about?
JODIE EWART SHADOFF: Not really. Charley and Georgia, they are changed, you know, in the top 20 in the world, and they are incredible players, and me and Gemma are the next two British players, and we've both had wins in the last 12 months, so I think the standard of British golf right now is probably at the highest it's ever been.
So it's really just nice to see and there's a couple of really good English and British players coming through the LET right now, the younger players. So it keeps me on my toes, being an older player on tour, so yeah.
