Q. You didn't play here at all before, this is the first time --

DAVID PUIG: No, first time.

Q. Did you feel like it was going to fit your game? Did you feel like this round was coming?

DAVID PUIG: Yeah. I mean, I've been playing pretty good lately. I like the type of greens and the type of grass they have on the greens. My putting has been very good. It's pretty similar in Valderrama. I putted very good there, and I putted pretty good today.

I hit it pretty good, obviously, as well.

Q. Did you hit every green, every fairway?

DAVID PUIG: No, I missed some greens. It's something I still need to work on. It's one of my main goals, to hit more greens.

I think off the tee, I got a lot better during these last six, seven months, but I still have a lot of work to do hitting into the greens and on the par-3s because my short game is good, and I know that, but hitting more greens makes it easier for sure.

Q. How much, if any, did you and Joaco talk about the course? He's won here, obviously --

DAVID PUIG: I mean, played with him two days, and playing with him always helps. It obviously helped here because he won. He's actually the defending champion. It for sure helped.

But playing with him and Mito, you always learn where they hit it, what they hit, and kind of what their plan is, and after seeing that, I do what I think is best for me.

But seeing them, what they do, it for sure helped.

Q. Where is your confidence level at right now? It seems like it would be high.

DAVID PUIG: I've always been pretty confident in myself. Like every sport and every player, you have ups and you have downs, but right now I'm not hitting it that good, honestly. I didn't hit it that good today. I still think I made a lot of mistakes that I shouldn't do.

But yeah, confidence with putting and chipping is good, and with the long game, it's whatever. I don't feel like super comfortable over the ball.

But I'm trending in the right direction, especially working off the course and when I'm on the driving range, so that's for sure helping me to get better scores.

Q. Are these bentgrass greens?

DAVID PUIG: Yes. I like that, yeah.
