THE MODERATOR: Here we are in the media center with Polly Mack and Celine Borge after the first round of the Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational. Great round today, ladies. Can you just tell us what was flowing for you guys out today and was working really well out there?
CELINE BORGE: I felt we stayed out of trouble. We hit the fairways and greens. Yeah, just tried to do our best on every shot.
POLLY MACK: It was a good match. I think our games match pretty well. Celine's putter was hot, and yeah.
THE MODERATOR: Speaking of which, what part of your games do you think specifically compliment each other just in general and maybe helped you out today?
CELINE BORGE: Polly hits it very far, so we get some short irons and can reach the par-5s.
POLLY MACK: For me it's nice to know that a very consistent player like Celine is on my team, so I know we went won't get in trouble. Yeah, she's very good on the green and around the greens.
THE MODERATOR: I have to ask, how did this partnership sort of come about? Did you guys know each other well before you started playing out here, or how did this partnership happen?
POLLY MACK: Yeah, we met on Epson Tour last year. Kind of got introduced through friends and then started traveling in Hawaii together for the first time. Started traveling a little more, shared host housing, and then we kind of had the idea of teaming up here. Yeah, it works out well.
THE MODERATOR: Do either of you have a lot of team experience? I know both you're both European players, and that's a big thing in Europe. Tell me about your team experience.
CELINE BORGE: Yeah, we played European Team Championship growing up, and then in Norway we also have the Club Team Championship so we played foursomes and best balls there.
POLLY MACK: Same thing with the German National Team. We had a lot of Team European experience and also club team that we play for. Yeah, so we're kind of used to it.
THE MODERATOR: With that in mind, how cool is it sort of to have a team event here on the tour? I know it's not match-play, it's stroke play, so a little different, but how much do you enjoy the team event?
CELINE BORGE: It's been really fun. It's been our first experience, but it's been fun.
POLLY MACK: I love it a lot. It's just nice to cheer for each other and to have a team. Yeah, not just be out there by yourself, but have someone to cheer with, which is nice.
THE MODERATOR: Looking up, I know this year is a Solheim Cup year. How much is that a goal for you, maybe not this year, but in the coming years? And how much does this team experience sort of help you in your minds reach that kind of goal? Just wondering.
CELINE BORGE: It would be very cool to play in the future sometime.
POLLY MACK: Certainly I would love to play in a Solheim Cup, and this is definitely kind of where you get a feeling, again, for teaming up on tour, and teaming up for the Solheim Cup would be who amazing, yeah.
THE MODERATOR: Just some of the top shots for today, top moments. I know they just showed your long putt there on 18 to sort of get that final birdie, but what were some of the other highlight moments?
CELINE BORGE: Polly hit a close one on 15.
POLLY MACK: 17?
CELINE BORGE: 17, 17.
POLLY MACK: The one on 15 as well. That was a close one. That was nice. I was glad to finally hole a birdie putt on 6 where you hit it close.
CELINE BORGE: Yeah.
POLLY MACK: That was nice. I think the other birdies you holed, yeah.
THE MODERATOR: This will be my last question. With tomorrow being a four-ball round, how does that sort of change your mentality, your game plan? What is your game plan for four-ball play tomorrow?
POLLY MACK: I don't think we've talked about it too much yet, but I think we'll stick to kind of what we've done today.
Just keep it calm and easy and keep staying out of trouble and make some putts here and there. I think, yeah, cheer for each other and have some fun out there. Sounds good.
THE MODERATOR: Sounds good. Perfect. Thanks, guys.
