Q. Well, it was one hell of a finish. You were in the hunt all the way. You were in control and then, bam, that guy drops about a, what, 20-footer?

MARDY FISH: Too good. It was 6-pointers and he had three eagles and a hole-in-one. And that's 26 points in four holes. That's a lot of points for that amount of holes.

That was super fun. We really enjoyed battling it out. Joe played great as well. You saw the couple holes. And what can you do?

Q. Looks like you and Steph were not making the birdies on the back nine. It looked like it was a grind out there, especially on that back nine. Was it?

MARDY FISH: I shot even par on the back. I mean, you know, it sort of tightens up and every shot is important. Obviously would have been helpful to make at least one.

It was kind unfortunate there on the tee box there on 18 to not have a full swing there, and then obviously a layup. It is what it is.

But too good. Steph played great. This is the best he's played. I know desperately he's wanted to win this thing, and he's good enough to win it. So I'm glad he did.

Q. The three of you guys in the last group, it's pretty obvious you're pretty close friends. So what was it like out there going back and forth? Obviously you're all competitive. You want to win, of course, each of the three of you. But it happens.

MARDY FISH: No, I walked right by him before that last play, I said, "I want you to make this, dude. Make it. Bring it." And he did. And it was fun. I'm always super appreciative of being invited back, and hope to come back and play better next year.
