Quick Quotes
Q. Kind of an amazing turnaround. Tell me how you did it.
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, just got my game back kind of more similar to how I played the first two rounds but got some putts to drop. Got some long ones especially. Nice to see that.
Q. Tell me about that start.
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah.
Q. Birdie 1, 2, 6, 7.
JENNY COLEMAN: Just came out of the gates just fairway, green, make the putt.
Just everything sharp.
Q. And out of the five birdies, which one did you like the most?
JENNY COLEMAN: Probably the first hole.
Q. Yeah.
JENNY COLEMAN: Just right off the bat get it going, 1, 2.
Q. What did you hit in there?
JENNY COLEMAN: No. 1 I hit 5-wood off the tee. Hit an 8-iron into the green and had about 15 feet.
Q. Uh-huh.
JENNY COLEMAN: 18 feet or so.
Q. And then the one bogey you did make on 11 you came right back, birdie on 12.
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah.
Q. That par-3 has been playing pretty hard for everyone.
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, so 12, yeah, hard green to hold and just dropped a long swooping putt.
Q. How long do you think that one was?
JENNY COLEMAN: At least 36 feet or so, 30, 36 feet.
Q. Have you ever had a day like where you didn't have to maybe the day before and you came back the next day?
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, yeah, that's just golf for you. You just have to be patient and hope for the best. Don't let it rattle you and just know it's going to turn your way.
Q. And then how you got here wasn't the easiest way either. Usually second alternates don't make the field but you were even in a four-for-one playoff for that second spot.
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, so I did that Atlanta qualifier and had to do the four for one for the second alternate, and then got the call that I got in off the alternate list, and I accepted and now we're here; made the cut.
Q. Seems like it's destiny for you a little bit.
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, yeah. I've played in two other ones. I qualified and did the one in Olympic Club, and then few years back at Lancaster.
Q. And then also having your twin sister on the bag.
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah.
Q. How does that help you. What kind of experience is that?
JENNY COLEMAN: It worked out great. It was an off week for her, too, and to come out early -- and she got play the course beforehand, too, and just hang out and enjoy what a great experience the U.S. Open is.
Especially to have Pebble host a tournament like this is amazing for women's golf.
Q. And then last question is: What holes do you think will be key coming down the stretch when the leaders tee off later today?
JENNY COLEMAN: Yeah, I think especially when the wind pops up some of those holes can get tough. Like 8 is just a really tough hole. You have to layup off the tee and no matter what, you're going to have a long shot in. It's hard to judge the wind there.
I think 17 is kind of tough, too, if it gets more downwind. It's really hard to just hold the green. Then you have a fast putt coming back down.
So, yeah, just here and there just try and stay steady, hit as many fairways and greens as you can, and take the putts where they are.
