Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome three of the 4 Aces, our champions of LIV Golf London. We are joined by Pat Perez, Patrick Reed and Peter Uihlein. Congratulations. Your dominance continues to reign. You guys are at the top of the leaderboard for the season-long race. Tell us what this win means for you guys today and what it was like for you out here this week.

PAT PEREZ: I had a great time. I played with Petey all three days. Somehow the sun came out; I've never seen it over here, so that was nice. It was great. The tournament was great. I played well, really well today. Yesterday was okay.

But Pete and I had fun. We knew we had to make some birdies coming in, coming down the stretch, and we were just pushing each other. I enjoyed myself, had a great week, and played nicely.

THE MODERATOR: P-Reed, you came in second. I know it's not the finish you wanted, but congrats. Tell us what this win means for the 4 Aces.

PATRICK REED: Yeah, the week was a solid week. I felt like we were seeing a lot of those teams getting too close to us at the top of that board, and I felt like as a team we just weren't really getting the numbers we wanted to.

I feel like this week meant a lot for us to go out and make a statement, and I feel like after that first round, we all really played some solid golf, from DJ through the entire team.

Because of that, we were able to go out there and make a run like we did today, and also yesterday. I felt like yesterday was a very important day for us as a team and also individually to have guys go out and play the way they did and kind of have that momentum going into today.

THE MODERATOR: Peter, tell us about your week and what this win means for the 4 Aces for you.

PETER UIHLEIN: Yeah, it was good. Nice to get our second win. I feel like all year we've been consistent. We've been up there finishing in the points. We've been playing solid.

So it's nice to kind of -- yeah, we had a really good Saturday and Sunday. Friday was a bit "meh," but the last two days were great. It was fun playing with Double-P for the last three days. We felt like we were pushing each other today especially. It was a lot of fun.

Q. We were really close to a playoff between 4 Aces and Ripper. It would have been the first team playoff in LIV Golf history. Is that something you kind of want to do, to get out there and battle it head-to-head in sudden death?

PATRICK REED: I would have loved it.

PAT PEREZ: I thought it would have been great for -- Cam hasn't missed one of those in his life, so I'm pretty shocked.

But nonetheless, it would have been cool. I would have been great. That would have been a separator again in golf to have a team playoff. I think it would have been awesome. But it didn't happen, and we're here.

Q. When did you start looking at the leaderboard or be aware of what was going on in terms of you guys closing in on Ripper and also you obviously trying to close in on Cam? Was there a certain point during the round?

PATRICK REED: Yeah, I always look at leaderboards, so I'm always paying attention, seeing what's going on. Really after the three-putt on 4 and being 1-over par, at that point I was starting to see -- I saw that the team didn't drop down, so I knew the guys were playing well. I knew that I had to try to do something, not only to get myself closer to Cam but also just in case any of the other guys needed help throughout the round.

I was able to catch fire there on the back nine and make a lot of birdies there. It's just one of those things; once you see your guys making birdies, it pushes you a little harder to go out and make birdies, as well, and try to contribute. To be able to do that and to see how these guys played from really start to finish today was key.

I think that was the biggest thing. We kept pressure on them, and I think that's what we needed to do was keep putting pressure and try and take it from there, and our guys were able to do that.

Q. Pat Perez, you had a bogey-free round, I think. Obviously being able to contribute to a win like this, you guys have been closing in. You've been two, three, four beyond the single win. What's it mean to finally get that second win this season, kind of like hey, we're still the team to beat here?

PAT PEREZ: Yeah, we want to win every week. We have a really good team. We have guys that are always going to play well. Being able to step up my game enough this year to actually help and contribute for once, it's actually been satisfying for me. Last year I didn't do anything, which kind of sucks. I knew coming into the season I had to be a better player than I was, and I've worked hard at it to try to help a lot and contribute.

The wins feel a little sweeter to me this year than last year, so I'm really happy with team wins, and it's nice to kind of separate ourselves again.

Q. Did you guys know what the order would have been if it was a playoff? Did DJ already --

PAT PEREZ: It was real simple. Pete and I have sandals on. There's no other two going out there. I'm sure as hell I'm not going to put the pressure on myself to go out there and lose for the team. I can tell you that right now. No way.

Q. Patrick, do you have any plans leading into the Open over here? Are you going to play links golf this coming week? Can you say where or what you might do?

PATRICK REED: Good question. I don't know where I'm playing yet, what I'm doing. I think we're just going to stay here in London. I've got my little one over here, first time overseas, so we might try to catch some of the Wimbledon, go over there for maybe a day and really just stay around here and grind, just spend some time with her, show her around London, and just continue playing golf.

Really I heard it was supposed to be really firm and fast over there, but then I hear it's been getting just absolutely hammered by rain last week -- well, this past week, and next week supposed to get a lot of rain there, too.

Really just get my game sharp, try to work on a lot of different shots I feel like we'll need over there, and just kind of go into it like every other major, focused, prepared and ready.

Q. Would you get there next weekend perhaps, and what do you remember about it from nine years ago?

PATRICK REED: It's funny, a lot of people ask me what I remember about it. Honestly I don't remember a thing about it. It was my first Open, and I think I remember more about that place, whenever, watching Tiger go out and win as a junior, when I won the Junior British Open and I came over and we were able to watch a couple practice rounds, watching how he plotted himself around the golf course.

Yeah, I really don't remember much about '14. I know I didn't play that great in the first round and played okay second, didn't make the cut there.

But just kind of one of those places. It's links golf. It's different. You've got to know your angles and know how to hit a 7-iron 110 yards but then turn around and feel comfortable hitting it 310. I think that's the thing this week is just to get used to that and get comfortable hitting those kind of shots.

Q. The way you were playing today in terms of a free run tournament, does that mean you might feel a little bit fresher because a lot of your fellow players are going to be yomping around in wind or whatever it is in Scotland. Is it going to help you mentally as you go into Hoylake?

PATRICK REED: Yeah, I've always wanted -- I was hoping to be able to play Scottish, but with not being able to play Scottish and everything and not being able to show the support that I normally do on the European Tour, it's one of those things that I feel like all I can do is continue staying over here, playing links golf and getting mentally and really physically prepared for those type of golf courses because it's different.

Even though this place started to try to get firm and fast, it's a little bit more Americanized; you can take the ball in the air, let the ball just land really softly.

Normally at the British you're having to play ridges, play bounces and control trajectories as well as curves.

Q. There's a very interesting 17th hole. They've revamped it.

PATRICK REED: All right. Perfect.

Q. Pat, bogey-free round today. As a team you seem to dial it in on Sundays. I've been calling Patrick Patrick "Sunday" Reed all year, but today you turned on the juice. What is it that brings you guys together as a team because on Sundays you always seem to be making a move?

PAT PEREZ: I don't know. I don't know. He's got a green jacket. The other guy has got a green jacket. Got a tall trophy on top of it. They're used to that kind of stuff.

Like I said, I have a lot of pressure on me. I'm the oldest. I wasn't playing great coming into the LIV deal in the first place, so I've had a lot more pressure to play better and this and that. Now I'm starting to see it pay off.

I've worked my ass off this year to try to get in this position where I can help on a Sunday and be a low scorer on Sunday and help the team. That's been my goal all year is to do it.

That's just what I've done. I'm just happy to be in this position to actually help out and the guys actually can look, oh, what's he going to do today.

Anyway, but I'm really excited about playing well again and playing like I have in certain years on the Tour when I've won back-to-back years and was in the Tour Championship, all that stuff. It's starting to feel like that again to me. It's nice.

It's not foreign, but it's nice. It's been a long time, so it's nice to kind of be there. For me, I really want to help these guys out, and the ultimate goal is to win Miami again like we did last year.

I have a lot of motivation this year to play well.

Q. It's paying off; I believe you and Sebastian were the only ones that had a bogey-free round today, so what you're doing is working, and it's nice to see you guys up there again.

PAT PEREZ: Thanks.

Q. Obviously LIV is back in the UK for the first time in over a year. I just wanted to know how have you found the crowds out there? Patrick, I know you had a bit of a fun time with them yesterday.

PATRICK REED: I had a blast with them today. What are you talking about? Yesterday was fun already, hearing "Europe" the whole time, and Captain America had to go kind of step on it a little bit yesterday, but then today -- it's one thing I love about the fans over here is they love to have friendly banter back and forth. They'll give it to you. They expect you to give it back, and if you do, it just makes the day a lot more fun, makes the crowds more engaged. The fans are just absolutely amazing.

I can't wait to -- for the Open, and then also I can't wait to come back here and go at it with them again.
