Press Conference
I. SWIATEK/S. Sorribes Tormo
6-2, 6-0
THE MODERATOR: Welcome to the press conference of Iga Swiatek.
Iga, good to get your match under your belt? Tell us how you feel about the match.
IGA SWIATEK: Well, again, it was another solid performance from me so I'm pretty happy with the result and how I played.
It's never easy to play against Sara because she runs to everything, she's always kind of resetting the rally. But I wanted to be patient. I really used my power today. That was a great match for me, I think.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. On a day when there are still first-round matches, how much are you psychologically thinking to round three?
IGA SWIATEK: For sure it's really comfortable. I'm happy that my matches were scheduled under the roof, so I always was certain that it's going to actually happen. It's a little bit easier to prepare knowing that. But on the other hand I know I would still be ready anyway if my match was suspended or something.
Yeah, for sure it's more comfortable. I would say you have this normal Grand Slam rhythm with one day off, one day of playing matches.
Q. With your seeding, after two matches now, how do you feel you're playing so far?
IGA SWIATEK: Well, I feel really confident. I was able to kind of do everything tactically as I wanted to, as my coach wanted me to do, on first and second round.
Yeah, I feel confident. I'm going to try to kind of keep it going. Yeah, that's all.
Q. Would you tell us about your preparation?
IGA SWIATEK: I didn't understand.
Q. Preparation for this tournament.
IGA SWIATEK: Obviously I'm pretty happy that I was able to have one week of practicing, then play some matches in Bad Homburg. I think it gave me a lot of experience.
I don't know, after Roland Garros I really felt like I can kind of keep it cool and just stay open-minded for the grass. I feel like I really learned a lot during these two weeks. That was my preparation.
I kind of focused a little bit more on footwork and what I want to do with that because I always feel like this is my strength. It's a little bit easier for me this year to adjust my game to grass.
Q. (Question about mental game.)
IGA SWIATEK: Basically the same as usual. I try to keep my mind busy in terms of what I want to do on court, what my tactic is, what technical stuff I should keep remembering about. It's a way for me to keep my focus.
Yeah, well, I didn't have any, like, tight situations yet, so we'll see how that's going to go. For now I've been feeling pretty confident and I really kept my focus from the beginning of the matches till the end, so that's great.
Q. I don't know if you enjoy stats or pay any attention to stats, but are you aware you are No. 4 in the world of all time ratio of 6-Love sets won?
IGA SWIATEK: That's great. I didn't know that. It's always nice to hear that.
Well, I'm just happy that I can play such a solid game, again, keep my focus because sometimes it's pretty hard to lead when you have two breaks up.
I always try to play every ball the same way no matter what the score is. At the end, yeah, it's pretty fun to enjoy the stats. On court I'm just mostly focused on playing the same game even though you're leading, yeah.
Q. Margaret Court was No. 1.
IGA SWIATEK: 2 and 3?
Q. Chrissie Evert is 2, I've forgotten who is 3.
