Press Conference
D. PARRY/H. Dart
6-7, 6-0, 6-4
THE MODERATOR: Welcome to the process conference for Harriet Dart.
Harriet, tough one out there. Give us your thoughts on that match.
HARRIET DART: Yeah, disappointing result. I didn't feel like I really ever got going. Yeah, I mean, I thought she started to up her level a bit in the second set. Made it difficult for me. But I still felt like my level was pretty poor today.
THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.
Q. You were having some dialogue with your box throughout the match. Was that normal communication or were there aspects of your game...
HARRIET DART: Sorry, what was the question?
Q. Were there aspects of your game that you were frustrated with in particular?
HARRIET DART: I felt pretty poor out there. What's amazing was I had a chance to win playing not great tennis. I still feel like I have so much to improve on.
I've had a really good grass court season. It's just disappointing that my worst match of the grass court season came here. Naturally being British, you want to play well here.
Yeah, today, I don't know, I just didn't really get going. She also made it tricky for me. Credit to her, she played better tennis than me today.
Q. I noticed you had quite a lot of heavy strapping on your shoulder. Can I ask how your shoulder is? Update on that?
HARRIET DART: Yeah, I mean, we've just been managing it. It's not been a serious problem. But, yeah, since Birmingham I've had some issues with it. I've been fine to play on it, yeah.
Q. Tell us what your plans are for the rest of the summer. Are you going to strip back the schedule a little bit?
HARRIET DART: For sure. I know there's a couple tournaments now in Europe, as well, so that requires less travel, which is great. I think there's a tournament in Warsaw, a tournament in Prague on hard court. I plan to play there, then head out to the U.S. a bit later.
Q. Is it the travel rather than the tennis that you find maybe more difficult or exhausting? You'd rather be not on a plane so much?
HARRIET DART: I think it's an accumulation of things. Last year, like, I played every week for six weeks. I felt really burnt out, whereas I'll be able to play two or three weeks in Europe, practice at home for a week or two, then be able to go to the States.
For me, that just works a bit better.
