THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome our co-leaders. We have Dustin Johnson, the captain of 4 Aces GC, and Jason Kokrak from Smash GC. You both shot 4-under today. Tell us about your rounds.

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Yeah, just a really solid day. Drove it really nicely, hit a lot of fairways. This golf course is one that you have to play out of the fairway from, and really just never got out of position. Just really drove it well and hit a lot of nice iron shots, controlled the ball really well, and gave myself a lot of looks at birdie.

JASON KOKRAK: Yeah, unfortunately DJ has played this place a couple of times. This was my first look at the golf course playing.

I played really nice, putted very well. A couple of errant tee shots that ended up working out.

But other than that, I kept the ball in front of me, made a couple putts, and happy with the way my first go around Valderrama went.

THE MODERATOR: You literally arrived here last night?

JASON KOKRAK: Two nights ago at about 2:00 a.m., and then my clubs didn't show up until about 5:00 yesterday. Quick range session, walked the front nine, and then I walked the back nine this morning. That's the only time I've seen the golf course.

Q. You were in four countries in one day trying to make it here?

JASON KOKRAK: Yeah, four countries, five flights.

Q. How difficult did you find the course today?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Yeah, I think the course is really difficult. The wind obviously, especially for the first 15 holes, was blowing really hard. The greens definitely started to firm up towards the end of the round.

The golf course, no matter if the wind is blowing or not, this course plays tough just because you have to be so precise on every single shot. That's why I think the golf course is so great, and it's a lot of fun to play.

JASON KOKRAK: Yeah, same. The first 15 holes, like Dustin said, the wind was up, so you had to be a little bit careful, but there's a bogey anywhere you look on this golf course. You get out of position, even on No. 1 when I came around the corner, I drove it a little bit too far and it was completely blocked out, and chipped it through the trees.

Yeah, the golf course is a tough golf course, small greens, and if you get on the wrong side of the holes, it's a speedy putt.

I really enjoy this golf course. It kind of makes you hit a lot of different clubs in your bag.

Q. DJ, what did you think of the Spanish crowds today?

DUSTIN JOHNSON: Yeah, I thought the crowds were great. I teed off on No. 4 so I didn't see them, but yeah, the crowds, we had a lot of fans out there. It seemed like they were enjoying themselves, and a lot of support. Yeah, really fun.
