Quick Quotes
Q. Very well played today, and you're through to the next round. You must be pleased with your golf.
JOSH GREER: Yeah, I'm still playing solid, which is good, and my irons have been really good all week, so as long as I keep that up, it'll be good.
Q. Talk to us about the match. How did it unfold?
JOSH GREER: He played well, as well, but I feel like I kept hitting first and I kept hitting good shots, and I felt like I was just putting a lot of pressure on him. If he made a birdie and win a hole, he had to make a birdie to win one, which was good for me.
Q. I guess that mental side of match play is really important, isn't it.
JOSH GREER: Yeah, yeah, it is. I tried to play my own game. The way I looked at it is I've been playing pretty good all week, so I was just like, if I keep doing what I'm doing, I'll be all right.
Q. You had the eagle at the 5th. Can you talk us through that one.
JOSH GREER: I had 180 yards and I was like, it's either hard 8 and try and draw it or try and hold a 7-iron up, and as soon as I hit it I knew it was really good. It looked like it was two or three foot and I was pretty excited about going up there, and it was like six foot, but I holed it, so it was good.
Q. Obviously playing so well today which surely will have given you a nice confidence boost heading into your next matches.
JOSH GREER: Yeah, like I said, I've been feeling pretty confident anyway. I played good in the stroke play, so if I can just keep doing that, I'll be fine.
Q. You've got Dad on the bag this week. How is he going?
JOSH GREER: I'm not sure if he's going to last all the other rounds, but he's going all right.
Q. Is he just there for moral support or has he been helping?
JOSH GREER: He's been helping, especially off the tees and like iron shots and stuff. I've been reading putts by myself, but he's helped me a lot off tees.
Q. Is Dad a good golfer?
JOSH GREER: He used to be a good golfer. Not anymore.
Q. How old would you have been when you first beat him?
JOSH GREER: I want to say maybe 14, 15.
Q. You had Harrison and some of the other Aussie boys out watching you today. Is it nice to have that little cheer squad to support you?
JOSH GREER: Yeah, definitely. I'm staying with Harrison and Adam, so it was good to have them out there watching.
Q. Scotland played last night in the football. I know you used to be a football fan. Are you still?
JOSH GREER: Yeah, I am.
Q. Were you watching the game?
JOSH GREER: Yesterday I didn't watch. I watched the last one, but I was knackered yesterday, so I was in bed.
