Quick Quotes
Q. Really well-played today, that was a convincing victory this afternoon?
TOMMY MORRISON: Yes, thank you very much. It was nice.
Q. Can you talk us through the match?
TOMMY MORRISON: I didn't believe I had it from tee-to-green. But I saved myself around the greens and holed some putts that eventually end up going my way.
Q. You said you were good around the greens. Links golf is different to what you play, especially around the greens. What was it about that you liked?
TOMMY MORRISON: It's my first time out of the country (USA) and first time in England. But I've enjoyed playing the bump-and-runs and enjoying the links golf short game. It's definitely a different look from back home playing in the States but I feel that I've got some nice touch around the greens right now and that definitely worked to my favour.
Q. Were you working on that coming into this week?
TOMMY MORRISON: Yeah, a hundred percent. I just knew how different it was and thankfully I've adapted quickly.
Q. Is match play a format usually like and excel in?
TOMMY MORRISON: I enjoy it. We don't play much match play back home but I had a match-play event last summer I did well in. I feel like it's a format that I've had success in, so I enjoy it and thankfully the rest of the week is match play.
Q. What was it that made you decide to come across and play in The Amateur Championship?
TOMMY MORRISON: Something I've wanted to do for a while. I've heard about The Open and The Amateur Championship for a while. I just feel blessed to be over here. I'm so glad I did come because everyone appreciates golf over here to almost another level. That's very -- it's pleasing to me.
Q. Convincing win today. Does that boost the confidence for tomorrow?
TOMMY MORRISON: Yeah, I feel great. I gained some confidence from today's win and hopefully I can go tomorrow.
