U.S. OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP 2023

June 18, 2023

Tom Kim

Los Angeles, California, USA

The Los Angeles Country Club

Quick Quotes

Q. How would you grade your week of play, especially that finishing birdie? I don't know if you know, but top 10s are exempt into next year's Open, and you're tied for eighth right now, so how big was that finishing birdie for you?

TOM KIM: Yeah, I think despite everything, I think it was just a great bounce-back after doubling 17. I felt like I was hitting it great all day, just one bad shot definitely penalizes just this whole U.S. Open. One mistake brings out a big score.

I bounced really hard after the first day, and I had a tough first day, and if you would have told me after 18 holes in the first round, I would have taken a top 10.

Q. You tied the lowest nine-hole score in U.S. Open history and you had back-to-back 60s on the weekend. How did you prepare after those first two days of play?

TOM KIM: Yeah, it was definitely I think one of the best golf rounds I've had these two days. U.S. Opens are the toughest weeks we have all year, and to shoot under par for three days in a row, it definitely shows me a lot of confidence about myself. Definitely pleased with it.

Q. You tied for 16th at the Masters, looking like a top-10 at the U.S. Open, haven't turned 21 yet. How happy are you with your game right now?

TOM KIM: We're getting better. That's on the positive side.
