Q. We're here with Ayaka, just coming off the course today. What are your thoughts?

AYAKA FURUE: I obviously gained more momentum because I made a lot of birdie chances today, so yeah, that's why I've got confidence today.

Q. Seven birdies I believe is tied for the most that we've seen in this opening round. What was working for you today?

AYAKA FURUE: I think my putting was really good today, and I guess my shot was also good, as well. That's worked for me today.

Q. Were any of the birdies you had today, was there any memorable one that stuck out to you and shifted the momentum for you to keep having more positive impact on your game?

AYAKA FURUE: The 18th, birdie, because I got my ball on in two, and that's the most memorable hole.

Q. What will you take away from today's round to take into tomorrow and hopefully the rest of the weekend?

AYAKA FURUE: I could earn as many birdies as I could today, so that's made me very confident about the rest of the week.

Q. I feel like we've seen you every single week since the Chevron Championship. How have you maintained this incredible stretch of play over the last few months?

AYAKA FURUE: Especially recently I've gotten confidence toward my play, so that's why I keep going on and keep maintaining my golf scores.

Q. We've seen you perform well at some of our more challenging courses on Tour this year. What is it about this course that you think brings out a round like today?

AYAKA FURUE: For me there are many holes that I can get birdie and I can make birdie. I just want to make birdies at that hole, as many birdies as I can.
