Quick Quotes
Q. Two rounds of 1-under par, you must be pretty pleased with those efforts?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, pretty pleased overall. First job done, just make the cut. That's all I had to do. A little bit frustrating, didn't really hole a lot out there. I mean, yeah, a lot of stuff that not quite too happy about but a lot of stuff I am quite happy about. So job done and on to tomorrow.
Q. Is that always part of the challenge the first two days, playing within yourself and not try to make mistakes?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, when you see the cut line there, it's always very easy to get wrapped up in that.
Yeah, I mean, you know you have to make the cut. You know you're not going to play match play unless you make the cut, so it can be quite difficult but yeah, I'm pretty comfortable. I mean, going out early this morning helped me definitely so I'm very happy with that.
Q. Slightly easier conditions, not as much wind as you faced yesterday afternoon?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, we definitely didn't get the best side of the draw yesterday with the winds picking up well into the afternoon. But I think the wind is about to pick up a bit more now, so happy to get out when it wasn't as windy and, well, try to putt a score on the board but didn't do as well as I know I could have. Yeah, happy to get less wind, of course.
Q. And playing with Ingrid, she posts a good score on the board. Do you see that rivalry continuing into the week hopefully?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, she just said to me in the scorers she'll see me in the final hopefully. You never know how it goes. Good playing with Ingrid. She's world number one for a reason and she played very well. Yeah, we've played quite a lot over the last few years at European events and events over in the States. It's nice to play with her again and good fun over there.
Q. You have a lot of experience in R&A events, 16s and Girls and women's and you've come so close in this one. Is this the year, do you think?
HANNAH DARLING: You never know. I mean, golf is golf. And whatever happens, happens, I can't quite control that. Obviously I would love for it to be my year but I can't think about that. I'm not going to get ahead of myself. I'm going to take care of each day as it comes and I'll take care of tomorrow and see what happens.
Q. What did you learn from those near misses?
HANNAH DARLING: I think it's just a lot of people actually ask me, what's British, what's it like and stuff and it literally is just a survival of the fittest. You get to the last day and I remember two years ago, when it was -- where was it? Barassie, when we were at Barassie, I ended up playing 40 holes in one day or something like that and was absolutely exhausted and had to go out the next day. But you've just got to get yourself to the next day, get yourself going and find almost any way to do that.
So I would just say, just keep your energy for the week.
