Quick Quotes
Q. Welcome to the Women's Amateur Championship, here at Prince's in England. How are you feeling about your round?
JUSTICE BOSIO: Yeah, it was pretty good. The wind was kind of down on the front nine, so I think I took advantage of that a little bit. I had 2-under, and then it kind of picked up and then had 3-over on the back nine to have 1-over total. Pretty solid first round and I think I'm sitting okay for hopefully a good day tomorrow.
Q. Wind is always the best defence of a links course and you definitely saw that on your back nine. Would you say that you like playing in the wind or what's that like for you?
JUSTICE BOSIO: It's not too bad. It happens so you have to learn how to play in it. This course is definitely tough when the wind gets up. A couple metres off the fairway, you're in the long, weedy grass.
And there's a lot of fairway bunkers that you need to avoid because you don't have any shot except a bunker shot out to the side or something like that. It's really key to make sure your starting lines are on point, and with the wind, especially.
Q. This championship is all about the match play, but you need to get through the stroke play. What's the mentality when you're coming into these stroke-play rounds?
JUSTICE BOSIO: Just like any other tournament. Just go through your processes and hopefully it all works out and you play as well as you can and you put in all your effort, and if you make the match play, you do, and if you don't, that's all right.
Q. Australia does typically tend to may a lot of match play. Is it something you like and is it a different mentality when it's going head-to-head?
JUSTICE BOSIO: Yeah, match play is cool. It's a different aspect. We play a bit of it but definitely when I'm off-season here for the summer tournament, we play a lot more match play, so it's good to get back into it.
Q. Have you had much links golf experience?
JUSTICE BOSIO: Not too much, no. I've played the Vic Open a few times which is the closest I would get to it. But yeah, this is definitely a true links course and it's a good test of golf.
