Q. We were all looking, the last time you made the cut at the Canadian Open was 2014 at Royal Montreal. You obviously put yourself in a really good position through two rounds. How good are you feeling right now about Thursday and Friday?

MIKE WEIR: Yeah, I'm feeling good. You know, I felt like my putter was really good yesterday. I didn't play great yesterday. Today I felt like I played quite a bit better and putter was just not great. So it was a bonus to see that last one go in on the last hole. Unexpected one. But, yeah, I feel good. Hopefully, I'm within six or seven of the lead. If I can get a really good round under my belt tomorrow and put myself in position, come Sunday. But feels good right now. It was a good way to finish.

Q. One of the things I've always observed about you when you're playing is like there's a lot of rehearsing, there's a lot of motions. Like, is it because you're still trying to figure something out with your string swing or is that just your nature?

MIKE WEIR: It's just a feel. I've always done that. I've always kind of tried to capture a feel of what I'm working on in my swing. Not to think too technically, but to feel what the motion I want to have happen. So that's what I do when I'm over a shot or before a shot.

Q. Capping off that round with that putt. You mentioned you got kind of unlucky on a few there. What was it like to cap off the round like that?

MIKE WEIR: Yeah, it was great. Like I said, I had three or four inside of eight feet that I missed today. So where yesterday I was really solid on those and today not quite as good, so to finish on a long one like that was a real nice bonus.

Q. Wet conditions this morning. Did that change how the golf course played at all?

MIKE WEIR: Yeah, it played really long. It was cool, wet. The ball wasn't traveling at all. So it played really long. Then got a little better on the front nine. But the course is playing tough out there. I've never seen a course that has so much disparity where if you hit the fairway you can be a little bit aggressive. But the rough is just so penal. So it just, you're really going to struggle if you hit it in the rough. So on those holes you just got to be smart, get it back in play and hopefully hit a good wedge and make par that way. So it's a challenge if you miss the fairway, no doubt.

Q. Obviously a good number of Canadians on the PGA TOUR having a lot of success. Maybe the deepest crop that we have seen. Already three of them this year have won. But when you're out here at this tournament there still seems to be a special level of reference, reserved for you. I'm wondering if everybody's cheering for Corey and Nick and Taylor, but how does that make you feel when you're still hearing those chants from the fans?

MIKE WEIR: Yeah, it's really nice. They have been with me for 30 years. So to have them still cheering for me and I was glad to pull off some good shots for 'em today. Yeah, it makes you feel great.
