THE MODERATOR: We'll start with English questions. Tomas, you're in the second week at of the French Open for the first time. What does that mean to you?

TOMAS MARTIN ETCHEVERRY: It's a dream come true for me. I worked so hard for this moment since I was a little guy, you know.

Well, a lot of emotion right now. Just to right now enjoy this beautiful match that I play.

Then tomorrow trying to be focused again because I need to continue like this. I have a good opportunity. Hopefully I can play the same like today.

THE MODERATOR: Questions, please.

Q. Of course, you are playing good on the clay, and you made a final in Houston and challengers. So you grew up in Argentina, which I think you played a lot of clay court when you were young. Could you talk a little bit about how you like clay, and why do you think you are good on the clay?

TOMAS MARTIN ETCHEVERRY: Yeah, that's why you say I was born in clay. In Argentina we always play on this surface. I play a lot of tournaments on this surface. I feel very comfortable.

This season I play a lot of match. I make the final in Chile, final in Houston, final in Bordeaux on this surface. When I came to this tournament, I say, well, I have my chances because I love this surface. Try to do your best. That's the way I always think about this mind, you know.

Q. Next round you're going to play Yoshi Nishioka. Nishioka said that he practiced with you once maybe last US Open the last year. Do you remember that? Is that correct?

TOMAS MARTIN ETCHEVERRY: Yeah, we trained there the last year. That was the only practice that we take together.

I know that it's going to be a tough match, but I am playing well, so just to repeat this every day, tomorrow in the practice and then in the match. Yeah, just to do my best.
