A. DAVIDOVICH FOKINA/L. Van Assche
6-4, 6-3, 7-6
THE MODERATOR: We'll start with questions in English.
Q. On the win there were two really impressive heralded young teenagers in the draw, and you had to play both of them, and you beat both of them. I'm just curious what you make of your results and your play today?
ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA: Well, it's never easy to play against two French guys. It doesn't matter their age, if they are old or they are young.
It's going to be -- the full crowd is going to be annoying, but I was focused on me to play every point to reach what I wanted, which is to win the match at the end.
Both players are very good players. For sure they're going to be tough players in the future. They are already top 100. They are going to be a Davis Cup team for sure in the future.
I don't know. I'm very happy for the win today because it was not easy, again, to play again with another French guy.
Mentally for me today was, like -- I did a very good job.
Q. Can I ask about the crowd a little bit? How aware are you of them during the match, and were you trying to maybe not get on their bad side or get into a moment where it's you against the crowd?
ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA: Yeah. For example, today was a little bit more difficult as the other day against Arthur. The conditions were different. The stadium here in Court 14 was closer, and you had the people more like on to you. It was a little bit difficult to don't put that focus on them. Then I was trying every point to forget about the people and just to focus on the court.
Q. If I could ask about the Rocket Raccoon that you were talking to after the match. How long have you had that?
ALEJANDRO DAVIDOVICH FOKINA: I will not have any words about that (laughing).
