Press Conference
A. ZVEREV/L. Harris
7-6, 7-6, 6-1
THE MODERATOR: Well done, Sascha. You said not easy conditions today. Were you happy to get through in straight sets?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Yeah, normally I play five sets during the first round of a French Open, so definitely glad to be through in three sets.
THE MODERATOR: Questions in English.
Q. Just your feeling about the match, your feeling about basically the match and the result.
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Yeah, as I said, not easy. I think, here in Roland Garros when it's windy, I think especially the stadium courts, it's more windy than the outside courts. I think the wind changes a lot. So definitely wasn't easy to play from the baseline.
Obviously both of us were serving very, very good, so not a lot of rallies. Yeah, I'm happy to be through.
Q. Sascha...
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Oh, hello there.
Q. It was five years ago on the 31st of May that we met here at Roland Garros for the very first time. What do you think has improved the most in the last five years?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Your English (smiling).
Q. My English or your tennis?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: I was playing pretty good five years ago, actually.
Q. And you're playing pretty well right now. You say my English has improved; your tennis has improved. What would you like to improve most right now?
ALEXANDER ZVEREV: Get some more wins (smiling). Get six more wins in the next two weeks. That would be nice.
But no, I think in general the last five years I've had up and downs of course, like any tennis player, but a lot more ups than downs, to be honest. I had a great five years with a lot of great tennis, a lot of great tournament wins, I think a lot of special memories as well.
I'm quite pleased of how the last five years went. I hope another five years or ten years will go by and we can have this interview again or this question again, and hopefully it's gonna be even more memorable.
