Quick Quotes
Q. All right, here with Perrine Delacour. Perrine, you had to wait to out a few moments to find out how the other match in your group did. To advance to the round of 16, how are you feeling?
PERRINE DELACOUR: I'm pretty happy about it. I mean, I wasn't playing my best golf all week. I was coming from a long week at home in France last week so I was pretty tired.
Pretty happy the way I played today and the way I got into the 16.
Q. To be able to come from a weekend home and then come here, what was the mindset? Why go home before coming here?
PERRINE DELACOUR: So I went home because last year during my off time I did the certification to be a teacher, golf teacher, and that certification was last week. I had to go to get that.
To come here from a week at home where I enjoy a lot, it was hard at the beginning. Then, I mean, we're in Shadow Creek. Could be worse spot to play golf, so I kind of enjoy it had.
Q. What was it like coming back here and getting ready for match play in general?
PERRINE DELACOUR: Match play, it's kind of like we played a lot in amateur golf in Europe so it wasn't something new for me. I was pretty familiar.
So it's just I like it because you can lost the hole and come back and be stronger the next hole. So it's kind of every hole is a new opportunity.
Q. Everyone in your group had a point going into today. Really came down to who was going rise to the occasion. How did you rise to the occasion do you think?
PERRINE DELACOUR: I was up and down on 10. I was telling me caddie I was over it. I'm like, I'm tired. I'm over it. He was like, come on, you only have nine holes left. Caroline played pretty good all day.
I kind of went through a nice birdie on 12.
I made a really long putt on 15.
16 I actually just chipped -- I mean, I put pressure on her so it was more hard for her.
Yeah, I knew today was going to be a really important day because we all have one point, so I was expecting to be in a playoff, to be honest, so it's great.
Q. I saw your relief in there when you went, playoff? And then, nope. Through to the weekend. Just how excited are you?
PERRINE DELACOUR: Yeah, I'm really excited. I mean, it was a relief because I've been struggling on No. 1, so I was like, oh, gosh do I really have to play No. 1 again?
It's such a relief to go through 16 without having a playoff. We know playoff is never easy, so now it's a new game. In match play everything can happen, so it's just -- I'm going to play my game and see where it's going.
Q. So been a long week already, and with the travel and with the heat, are you now prepared for possibly 72 holes over the next two days?
PERRINE DELACOUR: I'll try to be prepared. I'm mostly going to be resting a lot. I'm lucky. I just finish. It's 2:00 pm so I can rest most of the day and be prepared for tomorrow.
But I know it's going to be mostly about the rest. Rest is going to be important during the weekend.
Q. Does strategy change knowing it's knock-out rounds now?
PERRINE DELACOUR: Not at all. I will keep doing the same strategy. It's match play so you just want to put the pressure when you can on the other person.
No, I won't change anything.
