Q. What a finish for you on 18?

KIPP POPERT: Yeah, we had the rain delay. Went out and hit some golf shots.

Q. What was your assessment of the round as a whole?

KIPP POPERT: Really solid. I was really pleased how patient I was. Started 3-over for a handful, but knew once I started finding the fairways and finding my groove, I would be okay. That's what I told myself to do before the week started was basically -- if I had to chip out sideways, and that's what I did.

Q. Did the rain delay affect things, 17, did that have anything to do with the delay?

KIPP POPERT: The 17 tee shot is tough walking off 16 or if you had a 45-minute delay. I chipped out and made a 5.

Q. You had the worse of the conditions compared to the players this morning, so you must be proud to be at the top of the leaderboard the way things stand.

KIPP POPERT: Yeah, it was nice. My dad walked around with me and that was cool. So I had a great day. It was great fun.

Q. Sun is out now. You must be relieved to get your round finished and not have to come back early tomorrow?

KIPP POPERT: Yeah, I love my sleeps.
