Quick Quotes
Q. A loss and draw but a place in the semifinals. What are you guys most looking forward to tomorrow and how excited are you to make it to the semifinals this year?
LEXI THOMPSON: We're just looking forward to teeing it up tomorrow, bringing our "A" game hopefully, and doing our best.
NELLY KORDA: And another day to represent our country. That's all we could hope for, and hopefully we can get a W and make it to the afternoon round for the championship.
Q. Danielle and Lex, I know you guys were down for a little while in the match and fought back. Talk about the process of fighting back and what those key shots were.
DANIELLE KANG: I watched Lexi hit some unbelievable shots coming in. I was fan-girling coming in. I go, oh, my God. She just kept side-eyeing me because she knows it's like the sexiest shot ever. It was good. My job was just to make a par and go, be free, Lexi, six feet.
LEXI THOMPSON: We both played solid golf. We knew that we had to play very strongly today, and we did so, especially she did it in the beginning and then I kind of did it at the end, and that's match play, and especially team events, that's what you have to do.
Q. I was fortunate enough to be on the 6th fairway. What was that shot, and how well could you see it get into the Cup?
LILIA VU: So off the drive, I hit the tree on the way down but luckily stayed in the fairway, and then it was just 170 and we agreed on 6-iron and I was just going to hit it, and then drain-o.
Q. Were you guys aware of what China was doing in its match while you were playing? Obviously it had an effect on whether you guys were advancing.
NELLY KORDA: I had no idea. I was just watching -- there are not that many leaderboards out here. All we could worry about was our own match and that's what we did.
Q. If you guys play Sweden again, why will it be different?
NELLY KORDA: Why would it be different? It's a completely different format, so that's the only way. That's the only way it could be different. We're playing the same girls. It's just a different format.
Still very far away, but right now we're focusing on our match tomorrow morning, and that's all we can control.
Q. Australia and Thailand may not have as much match play experience in general and then alternate shot is its own form. How hard is alternate shot to learn, and how long might it have taken for you all to develop that?
NELLY KORDA: We have that team event, the Dow, so I think the countries that don't get to usually play it have gotten reps in. It's a fun format, I think. It's something different, and that's what we look forward to do, I guess.
Q. Players that succeed in alternate shot are generally good at what?
NELLY KORDA: Everything.
DANIELLE KANG: You just have to play good golf, no matter what the format is, it could be best ball, foursomes, singles, you just have to --
NELLY KORDA: You have to scramble, grind it out. One person can't do everything. It's a team event.
Q. You have an opportunity to be the first country to win Crown twice. What would that mean tomorrow if you emerged on top with the crown?
DANIELLE KANG: I think like Nelly said, we're just kind of focused on tomorrow. It's kind of far away. We're focused on tomorrow's match, on kind of staying in the present --
NELLY KORDA: And obviously whenever you get to represent your country, it's an honor. We're going to be doing that with a lot of pride tomorrow.
