Quick Quotes
Q. First I want to start with Yuka and Hinako. Yuka, the first points for team Japan with that half. Take me through what today was like for the two of you.
YUKA SASO: I play good. She played good. Australia team played really well, as well. They got the first point, first nine. Shibuno made some very nice birdie putts. We were trying to hang in there. Finally at the 15th Shibuno made a birdie and we were 1-up, but we both made a mistake on the same hole. That caused us to bring only half point.
But we were very happy. Really enjoyed playing together, and hopefully keep it going tomorrow.
Q. Hinako, was there any sort of strategy with the changing of the teams today?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: Not really change the strategy.
Q. You just wanted to see what would happen?
HINAKO SHIBUNO: Yeah, yeah, I think.
Q. Yuka, talk about what it was like playing in these type of conditions. We've been talking all week about your win at Olympic Club. Did it kind of feel like that moment back in 2021 with the wind going out there?
YUKA SASO: Obviously the golf course is totally different. Olympic has more elevation and greens, as well, and it had longer rough. But here it's more flatter. I think everyone will have a birdie chance, more birdie chances than Olympic. I wouldn't say it's very similar.
It's good that -- I have a good memory here, but not on the golf course. It's my first time here. But yeah, it's good to be back, familiar place, similar grass to Olympic. Yeah, I guess I'm happy.
Q. Nasa, I know you guys went and you stuck around and you watched after taking your match all the way to 18 holes, as well. What was it like watching them come away with their points?
NASA HATAOKA: Yeah, so yesterday and today we were just hanging in there until 18, and we did our best, but the other players, they are the best of the best, so we just our best. All we could.
Q. Ayaka, what was it like for the both of you today playing together at International Crown for the first time?
AYAKA FURUE: Yeah, a little disappointed we couldn't get a point yet, but I'm having fun and I'm really enjoying it, so hopefully tomorrow I just keep continue enjoying and hope we play better tomorrow.
