Angel Yin

The Woodlands, Texas, USA

The Club at Carlton Woods

Quick Quotes

Q. Here with Angel Yin after her final round at The Chevron Championship. A lot of emotions right now. Try and take us through everything you're feeling, what's going on.

ANGEL YIN: I feel like I felt when I started the round. Not much has changed really, other than I lost. There's that.

But just happy with how I am playing. Throughout the week, I scored better but progressively started playing a little bit worse, and then today was just like -- the weather changed and everything, and just wasn't hitting it very good. Honestly, I held it together, and then 16 and 17 really just was like bad club decision, mind mindset on 16 off the tee, and then obviously in the playoff hole, I just didn't hit a good shot. It just kind of spoke a lot about today.

Q. Let's talk about the birdie there on 18 to force the playoff. Were you feeling a lot of pressure? What was going on there?

ANGEL YIN: I was upset I didn't make my eagle, and I was upset I had to be in that position. Not really. I didn't really feel much nerves at all this week, even coming into this stretch. My caddie was telling me to calm down, but other than that, I really just wasn't really feeling much. I'm just really mellow. That's why this lack of emotion, and I'm not crying.

Q. You're taking the loss pretty well so far --

ANGEL YIN: Yeah, watch, I'm going to go home and cry.

Q. What does that say about you as a person that you're able to be so positive after this?

ANGEL YIN: I think I've just come a long way. I'm just really happy with who I am, where I am, and what I'm doing right now. Just a lot to appreciate.

If I can talk about how much I appreciate life right now, I'll get emotional, not over this.

Q. Can you please get emotional? Tell us how it feels, because you've been working on this and you've been going through pain, you've been going through a lot of things to get here, and then this week something showed up.

ANGEL YIN: Yeah, no, it's just really positive for me. My goal at the end of the year is still to play in Solheim and also get into the U.S. Open, because I'm not in right now. I was hoping I could win so then I didn't have to qualify. But I guess I still have to qualify, unless things change. But I'm just really happy that I'm able to play golf, honestly. To be able to post scores like this, that to me is beyond anything that is happening right now.

Q. I want to know how excited you are to come back here next year, this new home of The Chevron Championship because you just really played well on this course.

ANGEL YIN: I did play well. I really like this golf course. I feel like I have so much potential with playing even better here that I didn't even do this week, and I feel like it's exciting to come back next year and be able to showcase that and do what I didn't do this year.

Q. How do you take this into the next couple of weeks?

ANGEL YIN: Well, like how I said it yesterday, I'm going to manifest. Maybe win next week. It's in LA, so that would be fun.

I am disappointed, though. I walked into the locker room right before the playoff, and I saw those cowboys boots, and they said it was only for the winner.

Q. You'll have to buy some.

ANGEL YIN: Yeah. So disappointing.
