THE MODERATOR: Questions in French.

Q. Do you have a regret in this first set?

STAN WAWRINKA: Of course I have regrets. I was able to have set points in the first set, and I was able to get into the match and adapt to his game, but unfortunately I hesitated. I was not so confident.

I didn't have enough victories behind me, so I find myself hesitating, not deciding what I was going to do, and this was not good.

Q. On the second set point, you played a second serve instead of the first?

STAN WAWRINKA: Yes, and I was attacked on my forehand.

Q. You could have tried an ace?

STAN WAWRINKA: Maybe, but I had a short ball on my forehand and I hesitated.

But globally I believe my general level was good enough. Of course I need to practice a bit more, to find that confidence that I don't quite have now so that when on key points I will be able to sustain my level of game.

Today I was not far. I'm sure if I had won the important points in the first set it would have changed the outcome.
