Q. Just another spring day in southwestern Ontario, I guess, eh?

MACKENZIE HUGHES: Yeah, the conditions obviously have dramatically changed. Shane and I were walking off 18 -- or actually maybe it was Jason and I. But we were just kind of saying how it felt like a different sport today. Dealing with all the elements and the cold, rain.

So overall, kind of did okay with it coming in. There was some tough shots and some difficult -- holes 17 and 18 were playing really tough. Yeah, it's tough out there.

Q. I guess it is what it is, but how badly do you wish you could have kept yesterday's round going?

MACKENZIE HUGHES: Yeah, I would have loved to have finished off playing the way I was and obviously playing in a T-shirt, playing with a dry golf ball. All those things would have been great. But like you said, it is what it is.

I don't know, 40 or so guys had some holes to play this morning of some fashion, so it wasn't just me. There was many others in my spot.

Yeah, it's just kind of rub of the green. We play a sport outdoors, and that's the way it happens sometimes.

Q. You found the weekend obviously here at the Masters. What does success look like for you the rest of the way in?

MACKENZIE HUGHES: It's funny because today -- I guess the second round, not today so much. Today in the second round, shooting 69, and having good control of the golf ball and feeling like I had plenty of chance to make birdies. I felt like the today -- or this second round was a big round for me as far as just like seeing good scores around this place.

I think I've shot a lot of rounds around even-par, so shooting something in the red in the 60s is kind of good for my confidence around this place. I've always known I could play this place well, and today to kind of shoot that score and see those numbers going up, again, success for me is kind of just putting some of those rounds together on a weekend.

Obviously it will be much more difficult today than it was yesterday, but we'll see what we can do. We'll try and move up. Obviously I'm way back of the lead, but I guess I just never know. This could play really difficult today, and a round of 3- or 4-under could move you way up.
