Quick Quotes
Q. How difficult was that out there and what was the challenge and was the call made at the right time or maybe a little too late in coming?
JON RAHM: Oh, it's hard to say when. Obviously when we walked up to the 7th green it was clear to us that that green had been wet for awhile. They had been squeegeeing it for awhile. I understand they're trying to push us to play as many holes as possible, but it was very apparent when they tried to get the water out that it just wasn't going to happen in our case. You can't really say it was late because I don't blame them for wanting us to play as much as possible. Now the elements are what they are. Early this morning it was very cold. We enjoyed a couple holes without any rain, but there was a couple, those two holes at the end, 17 and 18 were two absolute monsters. Very happy to finish those even par. Kind of kept it going the rest of the day. You know, just too bad I couldn't save at least one par on 4 or 5. 5, actually I hit two good putts and it is what it is, right, that hole's playing extremely long. 500 yards in pouring rain is going to be very long. So very happy with the way I finished. I made a great swing on 6 and great two swings on 7. So feeling confident, playing good golf and there's a lot to be played.
Q. What was maybe the most difficult shot you encountered or one in which you just couldn't hit the shot that you wanted because of the conditions?
JON RAHM: Oh, the second shot on 18. I mean, 4-iron had a very slim chance of getting on the green. But I thought anywhere short was better than whatever the 5-wood could end up. Just because it was going to have to be some kind of fade 5-wood and you get a water ball the wrong place that can be halfway over to 8 over there on the slope somewhere, right? So I just kind of wanted the safe play. So I would say that. Obviously the tee shot was no picnic either. Tee shot on 17, 18 or that second shot there on 18. Because I couldn't play the shot I wanted to, I would say 18.
Q. Your outlook for tomorrow? What are you expecting?
JON RAHM: Well, it looks like it's good weather tomorrow. So we're going to have good weather conditions and most likely a soft golf course.
Q. A lot of holes.
JON RAHM: Same, pretty much similar to what I would have done today otherwise, right. So, yeah, a lot of holes. But feeling good, feeling strong, and keep it going.
Q. Does that give you an advantage over Brooks do you think, 29 in a day, he's probably not used to playing that many?
JON RAHM: I don't think that means much, obviously. When you're in the position we're in, adrenaline kicks in and it doesn't really matter.
