Quick Quotes
Q. Can you just give us a sense of how horrible it was out there and difficult to operate?
SAM BENNETT: Yeah, it was cold. Teeing off, it was chilly. Hole 1, I think we all had 190 in, and then it started really picking up when we were about hole 3. So it was tough. I mean, hole 5 was playing like a par-5.
It was brutal out there. I think they honestly could have called it about 45 minutes earlier, but they tried their best.
Q. That shot -- that second shot at 5 may be your best shot today.
SAM BENNETT: Yeah, it was good. I hit a good one in on -- I'll start off. I kind of toe banged my drive on 1 and got a little greedy on 2 and tried to take a little off and hit loft.
But the shot on 5 was good. I think I was 240 to the pin and had to hit a 50-yard hook. I don't think nobody realized how good of a shot it was to get it on the front of the green.
Q. I did.
SAM BENNETT: Well, thanks. That hybrid I hit on 4 was good too. Those were four good pars I made on 3 through 6 when the weather started getting pretty bad.
Q. Hardest conditions maybe you've ever had in college?
SAM BENNETT: No. College golf, you play through it all.
Q. What are you hoping for tomorrow? What's your goal? You're going to have a lot of holes. Do you even look ahead?
SAM BENNETT: No. I'm just trying to enjoy it. I feel comfortable out there. The bogeys on 1 and 2 weren't because of nerves. They were simply just bad swings.
Hopefully the weather, it's sunny, and the course is going to be soft. So I think it's going to be gettable. I'm guessing we're going to still have to play it down since we started playing it down, which might be a little tough. I'm sure there's going to be some mud balls out there.
I think the weather tomorrow looks fine, but I'm just going to try to have fun.
