Quick Quotes
Q. Is this just a continuation of the good play you've had, Valspar, Austin, to here, the last couple days?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, it felt good coming into the week. It's always fun to play with guys like Rory and Tom, just world-class players, so yeah, we had a good time out there. I didn't necessarily putt it particularly well yesterday. Felt like today I played pretty solid. But the pins were pretty difficult. I hit a really good drive on 13. I mean, it was four yards too far left. Otherwise I have an iron into the hole and most likely make birdie.
Other than that, I feel like it was a pretty solid round.
Q. Iron play been where you wanted it?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, yeah, it's been good.
Q. Stacking shots, like you said, one after the other?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, trying.
Q. How confident do you feel on this golf course?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, I do. I've been driving it nice. I think that's kind of the key to this place. You can set yourself up in the right spots and give yourself some looks.
Q. You obviously talked about playing with Rory. Do you feel more and more comfortable in those big pairings in these big events?
SAM BURNS: Yeah, I consider Rory a friend, so it's nice to go out and play some golf with him, world-class player. It's fun to watch him. I know he didn't have his best stuff, and same with Tom. We had a good time.
Q. What's the most important thing you have to do this weekend?
SAM BURNS: Stay warm and dry, I think. But yeah, it's going to be a test. This place always is, and looking forward to the challenge.
Q. What do you lean on? What past experiences in inclement weather will you lean on this weekend?
SAM BURNS: I don't know anything in particular. You play golf long enough, you play in some bad conditions. You know it's going to be a grind, so just go out there and get after it.
