Quick Quotes
Q. Tell us about your round.
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, I mean, I played unbelievable golf on the front nine, and I kind of kept it going on the back. I think the only bad shot I hit was on 13 where I just hit a bad swing there. But then I hit a good shot on 14, good putt also. Then on 15, I thought I hit an unbelievable shot. I mean, it was a really good shot and I just probably needed two more yards and it was probably a tap-in eagle and ended up making bogey.
So I think that's the way this course works. Yeah, I mean, it's the way it is. I just had a bad lie also on 18. It was downhill and I had the front lip up here. So I was a little bit unlucky at the end, but pretty happy with the way I played.
Q. With the difficult conditions coming in the next three days, what is your mindset? How are you going to deal with it?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: I think today could have been a good day where I could make a run, but it didn't go that way. I think tomorrow I'm going to try to see if we got good weather and hopefully have a good round.
Q. Any thoughts on the changes to the 5th hole?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: 5th hole? I don't even know what was the changes. Oh, 5th hole.
Q. They pushed the tee back?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: That was two years ago, right?
Q. They moved the bunkers or whatever. Still playing very hard.
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, still one of the hardest holes, I think, on the course. Yeah, I mean, it plays hard for everybody. Even if you hit the fairway, that is a hard tee shot. You still got to hit a really good second shot.
Q. Very tough pin position today?
JOAQUIN NIEMANN: Yeah, pretty tough. I think all of them are tough there.
