Quick Quotes
Q. That is a way to finish your Masters prep, back-to-back hole-in-ones to finish the par-3 contest. You must be thrilled.
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, it's a dream come true. Obviously to get one was special, but to get the second one was a bit surreal. It was an absolute blast out there.
Q. Talk me through the two hole-in-ones. What clubs did you hit?
SEAMUS POWER: I hit a sand wedge on 8. Probably landed 30 feet behind it and spun back, and it was looking like it was going to be close, and it dropped in, and similar on 9, I slightly pulled it and it kicked to the right and spun back in, so yeah, very lucky obviously. Great.
Q. Have you ever had back-to-back hole-in-ones before?
SEAMUS POWER: No, no, definitely not. That's a first for sure.
Q. Something like this must give you a massive amount of confidence going into tomorrow, just that feel-good factor heading into round 1?
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, it is. It's obviously such a special tradition here on a Wednesday. Being able to share it with my brother out there, that was probably the best part. Yeah, I don't know whether it carries into tomorrow, but it's certainly a lifelong memory that I'll treasure for a long time.
Q. You are the first person to hit back-to-back hole-in-ones in the par-3 contest.
SEAMUS POWER: Is that right? There you go. That's very good. A first like that, it's a good thing.
Q. The feeling of making history here, what are your aspirations for the rest of the week after this?
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, obviously it's probably not going to be as exciting as that, but we'll do our best and hopefully hit some good shots, and you never know what happens on the big course the next couple days, but it was really fun there today.
Q. Do you have a number of hole-in-ones? Do you keep track?
SEAMUS POWER: I had 14 up to today.
Q. Do you count those?
SEAMUS POWER: Geez, absolutely. I'll claim anything I can, to be honest with you, so yeah, I'm happy with that.
Q. Now 16?
SEAMUS POWER: Yeah, very cool.
Q. With it the same golf ball?
SEAMUS POWER: It was the same golf ball, yeah.
Q. Your dad probably keeping that one?
SEAMUS POWER: No, it's already gone. But it was fun.
