Q. Talk about the National Championship Game. Did you get a chance to watch?

SAM BURNS: I did. I watched the end of it. It was awesome.

Q. Were you here?

SAM BURNS: I was here, yeah.

Q. Tiger Woods was in the interview room earlier, and he was saying how obviously he's got some limitations but he knows the course so well, and that can help him play better. What did you learn last year playing here for the first time? Have you tried to pick up any tips from any veteran players?

SAM BURNS: I think it's just a place the more you play it, the more familiar you are with really the greens. I think I learned a lot around the greens and on the greens. Little breaks here and there, kind of the speed.

So I would say that's probably the biggest takeaway.

Q. 13, I have to ask if playing 13 was different last year than this year? Do you see yourself going for it? Do you have a strategy in mind?

SAM BURNS: I think guys will probably go for it less just because it's longer and you're hitting more club off a side slope. If you hit a good one, it's a little more decision, but I think you'll see more layups.

Q. Coming off a win in the match play, such a different format. Also you're beating some very good players to have to get to that title. How much does that help add to your confidence?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, that week was huge for me. I saw a lot of things in my game that I've kind of come into form that we've been working on, so that was nice to see it kind of translate over to the golf course.

Q. You seem to have all the elements you want. You have a great short game. You have a calm demeanor to win a major. Do you feel like it's going to come for you one day, just you have to be patient? How do you feel about it?

SAM BURNS: I hope so. I think for me it's just going into these events and preparing the best way that I can and ultimately being ready to tee it up Thursday and try to play the best golf I can and see what happens.

Q. Do you think this could be a place that you could win? Does it suit you well enough?

SAM BURNS: I don't know. I think, like I said, a lot of it's out of my control. I think just going out there and trying to put really good rounds of golf together and kind of see what happens at the end.

Q. Lastly, Scottie told us you're sharing a house again this week. Anything different? Any gaming going on?

SAM BURNS: Not yet. We haven't so far, but maybe later this week, I guess. We'll see.
