MASTERS TOURNAMENT

April 4, 2023

Min Woo Lee

Augusta, Georgia, USA

Quick Quotes

Q. Back for the second year. How does it feel the second year around?

MIN WOO LEE: Amazing. I feel like I'm a bit better of a golfer than last year. A lot of experience between there and then.

Really happy to be back. It's my favorite course and favorite tournament. Yeah, it's special. It's a special week, so hopefully I can play well.

Q. Tell me about you've started out the year really well. How much confidence does that take you through the last two months of golf? It's been really good golf.

MIN WOO LEE: Sure. I've been loving the way I've been playing. Obviously some learning curves thrown at me, but it's nice when you both have a really good week. Also you learn, especially at THE PLAYERS. So I'm just really excited that I'm here.

It was a bit of a sweat to get here. Obviously top 50 to get in, and I was pretty close to that number. It was rewarding at the same time. You always want to be here every year.

Q. So what's firing at the moment for the game? What part of your game?

MIN WOO LEE: I think everything is just slowly clicking. My approach play probably has to get a little bit better, if anything. My coach, Ritchie Smith, is over here, and we're working really hard on trying to hit the shots we need to. When that is on, I do have a really good week.

Hopefully I can get it going this week. Chipping and putting has been probably the highlight of my game over the last few years from the missed greens. At least, if I have that and I did miss greens, it's a good combo. I've been driving it fairly well. So everything is slowly clicking.

Q. What did you learn from last year, especially in that final round when you're firing up?

MIN WOO LEE: Obviously the front nine was amazing. Really -- not easy, but it was free flowing. Lots of drives on the fairways, wedges, and then holed a lot of putts. Just read the greens really well.

I learned that not to get too ahead of myself and just to stay in the moment. It's really easy to just carry on and forget about the shot. So learning-wise, probably that. But hopefully I've learned a few times over the last year or so to just stay in the moment.

Q. And this week, what's the expectations for this week, a W?

MIN WOO LEE: Obviously, I would like a W. My game's really close. I've knocked on the door a few times over the last six months.

Again, not to get too ahead of myself and just to enjoy it. I love playing while enjoying and having fun and interacting with the fans. So a bit of both.

I think it's time to lock in, but it's also nice to just have fun.
