Quick Quotes
Q. You hadn't played here before, but hole 13 has been extended with like 30 yards, and it's been really a debate between the players. When you played it today, how did it feel?
ADRIAN MERONK: Obviously I don't have any experience playing shorter hole, but it felt good. I just hit somewhat straight drive and had like a 4-iron in. Obviously the second shot is quite tricky from the hanging lie. So I think most of the guys will lay up, depending on the pin obviously.
It's hard to hold this green from like playing with a hybrid or 4-iron with the ball above your feet.
Q. Being a first timer at Augusta, just your feelings so far and how it is to be out here.
ADRIAN MERONK: It's amazing. We arrived yesterday, walked a few holes, played 18 today, played 9 holes with José MarÃa Olazabal, who gave me a lot of nice bits, nice knowledge around the course. So it was really good.
I'm planning to play nine more tomorrow and on Wednesday. Hopefully it will be enough before Thursday to get to know the place.
Q. From your impressions so far, what do you feel will be the keys to succeed out here for you?
ADRIAN MERONK: You have to hit a lot of quality shots. The greens are tough, around the greens as well. So you have to know where to put the ball, know where the misses are, play to certain pins, different ways.
So you just have to be smart and accept that par is a good score around here.
Q. And finally, you come from the European Tour. There are -- there's a lot of talk, at least in the media, about the LIV versus PGA. How has the vibe been for you? Do you feel anything special like when it comes to that?
ADRIAN MERONK: To be honest, I don't have any -- I'm quite neutral. If you want to go, go. I'm not against it. I just want to focus on my stuff.
I'm playing mostly on the DP World Tour. My plan is to go on the PGA TOUR. Hopefully this year I can do it and just go from there.
Q. Do you feel like the relationship between the players out here is okay? Or do you feel like a bit of a tension?
ADRIAN MERONK: It's hard to say. I haven't seen anyone from LIV this week so far. So speaking from experience at The Open, it felt okay, to be honest. No one had any arguments or anything. I think it's quite neutral, I would say, from my perspective.
