Quick Quotes
Q. Here with Georgia Hall after her runner-up finish here at DIO Implant LA Open. I know a lot of emotions right now. Just tell us how happy you are with your round, your game this week.
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I was really happy just to be in this position on the weekend, especially my 9-under yesterday. Yeah, just really proud of myself again. Just really gutted not to at least get to another playoff.
But a bogey-free round on the final day in tough conditions out there, so just on to the next one.
Q. Speaking of that playoff last week, playoff there, another runner-up finish, can you feel it coming? Are you happy to be that position each week?
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, the goal is to put myself in that position every week and I'm doing that, so I'm right where I want to be. Just comes down to the last few holes.
And then, yeah, managed to have a really good up and down on 16 and unfortunate putts didn't go in on the last.
It's really good confidence building for the next event.
Q. Obviously you were super resilient throughout the round; kept battling. Talk about the grind and just hanging in there up until the end.
GEORGIA HALL: Yeah, I didn't know what could happen. I knew that back nine was really tough and the wind got up as well, and I did miss a lot of greens actually on the back nine. Managed to get up and down a lot.
I felt a little like Seve out there, so just have a chance on the last hole and gave myself the best opportunity. Unfortunately the greens this time of day are very bobbly and it was tough to know what was the right line to pick. Unfortunately just bobbled off line.
Still happy the way I played.
Q. When you hit the shot on 18, did you know it was as good as it was?
GEORGIA HALL: I knew I had to strike it like 95%. That's why I backed away the first time and the pin was tucked, so I was really hoping. I couldn't see until I got up there. Just really happy. Obviously shame it was downhill, but still good time.
Q. I think you were four of four on the back nine getting up and down out of bunkers. Talk about your short game today and how this helped you hang in?
GEORGIA HALL: I must say my bunker play has been really not good the past six months. Ryann O'Toole has been helping me a little bit, believe it or not. We help each other sometimes. Her best part of her game is bunker play and I asked her one day, can you tell me what you do?
I've been doing it and it's worked really, really well, so very happy with my bunker play.
Q. Where are you next?
GEORGIA HALL: I'm staying over here in LA because I'm playing Hawaii. So definitely have a few days off golf for me mentally and then go on Sunday.
Q. I know our first major is coming up. As we look towards Chevron, what are sort of your goals there and like what are you going to be working on the next few weeks to try and -- seems like everything is in good shape.
GEORGIA HALL: Pretty much. Keep doing what I'm doing. I'm playing five in a row, starting from Hawaii, so really just to stay fresh and maybe take a few Mondays off and just keep doing what I'm doing.
Yeah, hopefully it will come.
Q. 14 was kind of a key hole in terms of you were sitting there and she hits the tree and ends up getting a good bounce.
GEORGIA HALL: I know.
Q. Talk about that hole and how things might have been different.
GEORGIA HALL: That hole just sums up golf I think. Obviously she got lucky and managed to have a full shot in. Then I slightly tugged mine trying to get up and down for par.
So things just swings in roundabouts, right? It comes and goes. It went her way, and obviously she played really great apart from that and she deserved to win.
Q. One of those five events you will be playing assumably International Crown.
GEORGIA HALL: Yes.
Q. How excited are you to just be a leader out there and play on Team England and hopefully bring this great game to this team?
GEORGIA HALL: It's really rare for me to represent just England. It's usually Europe or Great Britain, so to represent my actually country is always a massive honor for me. I get to play my UL Crown. Really strong players and hopefully be good.
Q. How would you sum up the last two weeks?
GEORGIA HALL: Rollercoaster. I need to lie down for sure. It's a very mentally draining. I mean, last week I was up there kind of every day, so I don't know. Obviously gutted not to get a win. Two second place finish is right where I need to be and start the season, so very happy.
