THE MODERATOR: We have the Miami Open champions. Any questions?
Q. First Masters 1000, and a special day, your son's birthday. How are the mixed feelings right now?
SANTIAGO GONZALEZ: Yeah, I'm very happy. Obviously it will be a day that I will always remember. It's never too late to win your first Masters 1000, and also a special day with my son's birthday. It's amazing.
So I'm not going to forget, and probably he's not going to forget. Hopefully us together we can keep it going the rest of the year having good result.
Q. During the campaign here, you beat the No. 1 doubles team. What's been clinching well with your guys' game this season?
EDOUARD ROGER-VASSELIN: Yeah, we just saw the draw. I mean, the coach came with the draw with our name at the end, and we looked at it and we say, yeah, we had a tough draw from the beginning. We did really well this week.
We started the season also not bad. We are enjoying our time together off-court. Now we know we like to play golf a lot together. He's for now better than me, but I will try to improve and we will get some fun also off-court that help to be a stronger team, I think.
Q. How was the match itself, the final?
EDOUARD ROGER-VASSELIN: Yeah, well, it's always tricky, the final. You have a little bit of tension. Also, I know very well Nico, so it's always not easy to perform well.
But we just focus on our game. It was again hot and very humid. It was heavy, it was tough to play really strong every point, but we just fought from first to last point. We had a good opportunity at the end, and we are of course very delighted to win this tournament.
Q. You guys are going to play together this season? What's the expectations for the clay now?
SANTIAGO GONZALEZ: Yeah, we are playing together. Our goal is to try to be in Turin, the top 8. Still a long year to go, but it's a good start to the year.
Next is Monte-Carlo. Hopefully our ranking is going to be better. Hopefully we can get in there at the last moment. We will be in Europe, clay court, Barcelona, Madrid, Rome. Hopefully finding good results to make it to Roland Garros and after that the grass and everything else.
Q. Did you FaceTime your kids with the trophy already?
EDOUARD ROGER-VASSELIN: Of course. Yeah, yeah, I did. They were waiting for my call, so it's already like it was 9:00 p.m., so they were already in bed. I say, Okay, it's time to go to bed and I see you tomorrow for lunch. All that's good.
