Augusta, Georgia, USA
Quick Quotes
Q. Second time out at Augusta National. How did it compare this year to last year and what you remember?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, it was really special. Today was probably more special than last year for some reason. I really just tried to go out and enjoy the experience with my family and stuff like that. Yeah, it was really, really cool. Me and my teammate Sophia had a challenge to make as many birdies as we could, and made four, just about made five, which I was pretty happy with. Yeah, it was a good day.
Q. Who do you have in town? What's here this week with you?
HANNAH DARLING: So I have my teammate Sophia. We're really close friends, so that was really nice all week. She caddied for me, which was really cool. I have my parents, both mom and dad are here, which was really nice. They made the trip over. Then our very close family friends Craig and Margaret, they're here, as well.
Trying to think if I've forgot anyone; I don't think so. So yeah, that's been really cool all weak. Then we have a few more people out that we kind of know and stuff that's been following all week. So yeah, it's been special.
Q. What was it like for you to have that support system throughout the week here?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, it's been amazing. I think my caddie, Sophia, was able to keep me calm all week, and that's what I really needed. I really enjoyed having her on the bag. I think we made really good decisions in the moment and we did the best we could.
Then having my parents here, my dad actually dislocated his hip two weeks before he was meant to come last year, so he wasn't able to make the trip, so today was even more special for him, and that was the first time he's been able to come to Augusta with me, so having him and my mom here has been really cool.
Q. What were his impressions of the course being his first time today?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, I've not actually spoke to him since, but he was speechless. My dad is rarely speechless, so I guess that speaks for itself. But you know, he's watched the Masters ever since he was young, so I'm sure that he would have found today amazing.
Q. What has this experience meant to you being your second year?
HANNAH DARLING: Yeah, it's huge. I said it before in the week and I'll say it again. This is the best week of the year for us, and the Augusta National committee or group, whatever you want to call it, does such a special job putting this all together. Everything is taken care of, everything is thought of, and we come back year in and year out because this is where we want to be, and this is the best week of the year.
